Criteria for judging projects
In general, a project is more valuable for the Go community and for the spreading of Go if it has more impact. Below is a list of criteria you can use as a guideline when picking your choice.
Several basic categories of objectives can be distinguished, including:
- Increasing public awareness,
- Strengthening existing Go communities,
- Supporting the infrastructure of Go promotion.
Effectiveness
- Are there measurable objectives?
- Are the objectives relevant?
- Are the objectives reached?
Efficiency
- What is the ratio between the human and financial input on the one hand and the outcome on the other?
Originality
- Is the project unique in its nature?
- Does the project open new perspectives for the promotion of Go?
Current
- Does the project make use of new opportunities, social developments, (marketing) strategies, technologies, social media?
Potentiality
- Is further development of the project promising?
Replicability
- Can the project be copied or easily used as an example in similar circumstances at other places?
Simplicity
- Is the project highly independent of the specific capacities or knowledge of the person(s) running it?
Replaceability
- If apparent alternatives already exist for the methods or materials used, how are the differences evaluated?
Attractiveness
- How is the project presented in external relationships (partners)?
- Can the presentation appeal to the target audience?
Quality
- If the project involves go-technical content, to what degree does it add value?
