In 1992 the European Go Cultural Centre was founded in Amstelveen, the Netherlands, with the financial aid of Kaoru Iwamoto 9p and the Nihon Ki-in. Now, 25 years later, the centre is still going strong.
To commemorate this milestone, we organise a special Anniversary Go Tournament in the weekend of 21-22 October!

We are proud to announce two special guests for the event:

Yamashiro Hiroshi 9p (Nihon Ki-in) and Artem Kachanovskyi 1p (EGF)

Both professional go players will be present at the tournament and will be available for game reviews. On Saturday evening, starting from 18:30 PM, they will provide Simultaneous teaching games for the participants. Artem Kachanovskyi 1p will also take part in the tournament.

(Update 03-10-2017: Instead of Yamashiro Hiroshi 9p it will be Cătălin Țăranu 5p who will provide simultaneous teaching games together with Artem Kachanovskyi 1p. Mr. Yamashiro Hiroshi 9p will instead be present on Friday 20 October, during the Teachers' Day of the EGCC.)

The 25 Years EGCC Anniversary Go Tournament is part of the European Grand Prix and counts as a Bonus Level C tournament. Registration for the tournament has been open since a week and already 29 participants have registered. About half of the players is 5 dan and stronger, promising an extremely strong field. For this reason, the EGCC has asked EuroGoTV to be present during the event and broadcast the top 2 boards live on the Kiseido Go Server

We encourage go players of all levels to participate in the tournament and share in our celebration.
